Sacramento's Luckiest Race Weekend
The Shamrock'n Weekend is a multi-day running event held in West Sacramento, California. Recognized as the Official Race of Cancer Survivorship, the event supports the Triumph Cancer Foundation. The weekend features various distances and activities centered around Sutter Health Park.
Participants can choose from several event options:
- Half Marathon
- 10K
- 5K
- Adaptive 5K and Half Marathon
- Kids' Leprechaun Dash (1/2 mile for ages 12 and under)
- Doubleheader (5K or 10K on Saturday plus the Half Marathon on Sunday)
The courses include live music and participants often wear costumes. All races conclude with an on-field finish, followed by post-race festivities including food and beverages at the ballpark. Those who complete a Doubleheader receive a third medal and a commemorative tech shirt. Children in the Leprechaun Dash receive a commemorative Shamrock'n baseball.
The Half Marathon has a course time limit of 4 hours, with roads scheduled to reopen to traffic at 12:30 pm on Sunday. Packet pickup is available in the days leading up to the race at Fleet Feet on J Street, or at the venue on race mornings. Race day registration is available for Saturday events but not for the Sunday Half Marathon. All entry fees are non-refundable and non-transferable.
