Event Information

The Luck of the Greene 5K takes place on March 21, 2026, at Greene County Community Park in Ruckersville, Virginia. A virtual run option is available for participants who cannot attend in person.

Course and Support

The course is a 5 km distance. A trail map for the park is referenced. One water station is located on the course at approximately the 1.55 mile marker. Restrooms are available near the check-in area.

Registration and Fees

Registration is open on race day, with a price increase of $5 on race morning. The standard fee for the 5K is $35 until February 28, after which it increases to $40. A combined Couch to 5K training program and race registration is offered for $55. Technical event shirts are guaranteed for registrations before March 11. Shirts for later registrants are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

What Runners Receive

Participants receive a finisher's medal, a technical (Drifit) event shirt, and chip timing.

Awards and Results

Awards are given to the top 3 men and women overall. Additional awards are presented for 1st and 2nd place in age groups: 19 & Under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70+. Runners who place top 3 overall are not eligible for age group awards. Results are posted live online via Athlinks.com, and a QR code is available at the race for immediate results. Final results with series points are posted on the Monday after the race.

Logistics

Packet pickup is available at the event. Participants are recommended to arrive 60 minutes before the event start time. Parking is available at Greene County Community Park. The event includes a post-race party at the Downtown Stanardsville Pavilion with music, food, and drinks.

Points Series

Race points count towards the organizer's Year-Long 5K & Back of the Pack Series, as well as their Winter Series.

Weather Policy and Charity
