The Charlottesville Turkey Trot 5k is held on Thanksgiving weekend, Nov 27-30, 2025, in Charlottesville, VA. The event includes a 5k (Live) and a 5k (Virtual). The live course starts and finishes next to Albemarle High School and runs on surrounding neighborhood roads. The course has flat stretches and mild rolling hills with a total elevation gain of 133 feet. The virtual option may be run anywhere between Nov 27 and Nov 30, 2025 until 5:00 pm.
Logistics and extras
Packet pickup is at Connect Church (2080 Lambs Rd) on Tuesday, Nov 25 (3-6 pm) and Wednesday, Nov 26 (1-5 pm); race-day pickup is available at Albemarle High School from 7:45 am to 8:30 am. Ample parking is available at Albemarle High School, Journey Middle School, and Greer Elementary. The event uses chip timing and local Albemarle EMT medical services will be on site. Teams are scored by the four fastest cumulative times. No dogs are allowed on the course and strollers are permitted only in the last wave. The race benefits the Blue Ridge Area Food Bank and Loaves & Fishes Food Pantry. Registration must be completed before Oct 26 to guarantee a race shirt.
