Event overview
The Lost Valley Trail Race 2026 is a point-to-point trail event that finishes at Dundas Valley Conservation Area in Dundas, Ontario. The event is sanctioned by Athletics Ontario and will limit registration to 180 participants. The race uses the Main Trail of the Bruce Trail, which is marked with white blazes; only the first and last 250 m and a 2.5 km road section through Dundas will have additional marking flags. The organizer partners with La Sportiva, who will bring shoe demos and give away two pairs at the event.
Courses and logistics
- 10 km
- 25 km
Both distances are point-to-point. Participants are expected to board a bus at the finish area to reach each start location or arrange their own transportation. Parking at Dundas Valley Conservation Area is included in the race registration fee and is the designated finish parking area. The 25 km course begins at Cityview Park in Burlington and follows single-track along the Niagara Escarpment, with rocky sections, climbs, and views; it has about 600 m of elevation gain and 720 m of elevation loss. The 10 km course begins near Rock Chapel Conservation Area and is about 75% trail and 25% road, with roughly 185 m of elevation gain and 265 m of elevation loss.
Aid stations: three on the 25 km course at 7.5 km, 15 km and 20 km; one on the 10 km course near 5 km. Events are cup-less; participants must carry a collapsible cup or bottle. Poles are permitted. Race fees include bus transport, parking, a pair of socks, neck gator, sticker, small bib, aid stations, and a finisher medal. Ten dollars from each registration supports the Iroquoia Bruce Trail Club. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
