The Lost Valley Trail Race 2026
The Lost Valley Trail Race is a point to point trail event that runs along the Iroquoia Section of the Bruce Trail from Burlington to Dundas. The finish area is at the Dundas Valley Conservation Area.
There are two distances available:
- 10 km
- 25 km
Both courses follow the Main Trail marked by white blazes. Only the first 250 m, the last 250 m, and the roughly 2.5 km road section will have additional markings. Participants are transported by bus from the finish area to the respective start locations. Parking at Dundas Valley Conservation Area is included in the registration fee.
Course details: the 25 km course is a net downhill route with about 600 m of elevation gain and 720 m of elevation loss, featuring rolling single track, rocky sections, a tunnel under Hwy 6, and a steep descent near Sydenham Hill. The 10 km course is approximately 75% trail and 25% road with about 185 m gain and 265 m loss; the largest descent is on a technical section where speed is not advised.
Aid stations and services: the 25 km has aid stations at 7.5 km, 15 km and 20 km; the 10 km has an aid station near 5 km. Stations will offer sweet and salty snacks, water, electrolyte drink and PB and J. The event is cup-less so participants must bring a collapsible cup or bottle. Poles are permitted. Race swag and included items are a bus ride to the start, socks, neck gator, sticker, tiny custom bib, aid stations, a finisher medal and a CA$10 donation per registration to the Iroquoia Bruce Trail Club. Registration is capped at 180 participants. The event is sanctioned by Athletics Ontario. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
