Event overview

The Lost Valley Trail Race takes place on October 24, 2026, in Dundas, Ontario. The event is sanctioned by Athletics Ontario and is limited to 180 participants. It is a point-to-point trail race on the Iroquoia Section of the Bruce Trail, running between Burlington and Dundas. Two distances are offered:

  • 10 km
  • 25 km

Both races finish at the Dundas Valley Conservation Area / Stacey Meadow Pavilion, and participants are asked to park at the Dundas Valley Conservation Area. Parking fees for participants are included in the race registration fee. The organizer lists a partnership with La Sportiva for shoe demos and giveaways.

Course, logistics and services

Both courses follow the Main Trail of the Bruce Trail, marked with white blazes; additional markings will appear only on the first and last 250 m and on the 2.5 km road section through Dundas. The 25 km starts at Cityview Park in Burlington and includes single-track, rocky sections, a tunnel under Hwy 6, steep climbs and descents, views along the escarpment, and a final lap around Stacey Meadow Pond. The 25 km has about 600 m of elevation gain and 720 m of loss. The 10 km starts at Rock Chapel Conservation Area in Dundas, is about 75% trail and 25% road, and has approximately 185 m gain and 265 m loss.

There are aid stations (25 km: three at 7.5 km, 15 km and 20 km; 10 km: one near 5 km) supplying snacks, water, electrolyte drink and PB&J. Events are cup-less; participants should bring a collapsible cup or bottle. Poles are permitted. Race swag includes the bus ride from the finish to the start, socks, a neck gator, sticker, tiny race bib, aid stations, a finisher's medal, and a donation to the Iroquoia Bruce Trail Club. Refunds are issued as a 100% race credit if requested more than 30 days before the event; transfers to another participant are allowed.
