The Lost Valley Trail Race 2026
The Lost Valley Trail Race finishes at Dundas Valley Conservation Area and follows the Iroquoia Section of the Bruce Trail between Burlington and Dundas. The event is sanctioned by Athletics Ontario and offers two point to point distances.
- 10 km
- 25 km
Both courses run along the Main Trail marked with white blazes; additional markings are limited to the first 250 m, the last 250 m, and the 2.5 km road section at the base of Sydenham Hill. The 10 km course is about 75% trail and 25% road, with approximately 185 m of elevation gain and 265 m of elevation loss. The 25 km course has roughly 600 m of elevation gain and 720 m of elevation loss.
Participants may use a bus that transports runners from the finish area to each start or arrange their own transportation. Parking at Dundas Valley Conservation Area is included for participants; crew and spectators pay park entrance fees.
Aid stations: the 25 km course has three aid stations at about 7.5 km, 15 km and 20 km; the 10 km course has one aid station near 5 km. The event is cupless so runners must bring a collapsible cup or bottle. Poles are permitted.
The race fee includes the bus transfer to the start, a pair of Happy Trails Racing socks, a neck gator, a sticker, parking, a small custom race bib, aid stations and a finisher medal. Ten dollars from each registration is donated to the Iroquoia Bruce Trail Club. Registration is limited to 180 participants. Up to 30 days before the race a 100% race credit is available for cancellations; cancellations within 30 days are not accommodated but bib transfers are allowed.
