The Loop Ultra at Camp Plas, Dolanog
The Loop Ultra is a trail running event based at Camp Plas near the village of Dolanog in the Cambrian Mountains of mid Wales. The event centers on a 32 mile route through remote trails, forest tracks and ancient paths with views across the surrounding hills and toward Lake Vrynwy.

The field is limited to 100 runners and the route is fully marked. Organisers provide additional on-course support including back runners, rangers and three refuel zones. Checkpoints are stocked with a mixture of solid and drink options and cater for dietary requirements.
Camp Plas is used exclusively for the weekend and offers on-site camping, field bell tents and log cabins with toilets and showers for residents. The site is described as eco-friendly and located beside the River Vrynwy. Weekend activities listed include a barbecue, live local music in the barn, lake paddle boarding, a mobile sauna and yoga sessions.
The event is canicross friendly; dogs must be at least 12 months old, fit to run and kept on a lead, with owners responsible for their animals. Trophies are not allocated to canicross entrants.
A 14 hour cut off is set for the main route. Organisers require a specified mandatory kit for safety, including waterproof jacket and trousers, race vest or pack, capacity for one litre of fluid, map or downloaded GPX file, head torch and whistle, first aid items and a foil blanket.
