Event overview
The Loop Ultra is a 32-mile (approximately 50 km) trail running event held at Camp Plas, Plas Dolanog near Welshpool in the Cambrian Mountains of Mid Wales on Saturday 10 October 2026. Entry is limited to 100 runners. The published entry fee is £85 and the minimum age to enter is 17. The course is fully marked and organisers provide back runners and rangers. The published overall cut-off time for the main event is 14 hours. A GPX file for the route is available for download.
Route, support and facilities
The route uses trails, forest tracks and ancient paths and passes near Lake Vrynwy and parts of the Glyndwr Way. Checkpoints are stocked with a range of food and drink, with options to cater for dietary requirements including vegan. The site offers exclusive weekend use of Camp Plas with camping, bell tents and cabins, toilets and showers for campers, a medical team on site, wild swimming and paddle boarding (subject to conditions), an on-site BBQ and live music in the barn. Parking is free for campers; a small charge applies for day parking.
Rules and mandatory kit
The event is canicross friendly; dogs must be at least 12 months old, fit to run, kept on the lead and remain the responsibility of their owner. Organisers state canicross participants are not eligible for trophies. A mandatory kit list is enforced and kit checks will be carried out; no entrant will be allowed to participate without the required items.
