Event overview
The 43rd South Shropshire Circular is scheduled for 28 February 2026 and is organised by LDWA - Marches Group. The event starts and finishes at Minsterley Village Hall, Station Road, Minsterley, Shrewsbury, SY5 0BE. It is a 25 mile route with about 4,675 ft of ascent and a 10 hour time limit. The route will be undisclosed until the day of the event when a written route description is issued. The event uses a mass start and no late starts are allowed. Car parking is available at the village hall and overnight camping is not permitted.
Entry and participant details
Entries opened 1 November 2025 and closed 14 February 2026. The event is full; new entrants are placed on a waiting list. Entry fees are £14 for LDWA members and £19 for non-members. Minimum age is 18 on the event date. Dogs are not permitted.
Course, checkpoints and navigation
The route is divided into four legs with three serviced checkpoints providing refreshments. The route description gives grid references and a recommended line between checkpoints. Participants must be able to navigate with map and compass and use OS Explorer Sheet 216 (Welshpool and Montgomery) at 1:25 000.
Mandatory equipment
Required items include a mug, walking boots or fell-running shoes with well-studded soles, full body and leg covering, windproof and waterproof outer jacket and over-trousers, spare inner garment, hat and gloves, survival bag, emergency food and drink, torch, basic first aid, compass and whistle, and OS Explorer Sheet 216.
