The Longest Night Trail & Ultra Run at Lakewood Nature Preserve
The event is an overnight, lap-based trail running event at Lakewood Nature Preserve in Greenville, SC, hosted from the central barn at 220 Lakewood Drive. The course is a 1.5 mile loop that uses the barn as the start/finish hub, aid station, and personal setup area. Runners must complete each lap in under 25 minutes according to the published time schedule.
Distances are run as a set number of laps:
- 50 Miles, 34 laps
- 50K, 21 laps
- Marathon, 18 laps
- Half Marathon, 9 laps
- 10K, 4 laps
The aid station at the barn offers hot soup and broth, pickles, chips, candy and fig newtons, water, Coke, ginger ale, and Wildly Charged Hydration. The event is cupless; runners are asked to bring their own hydration vessel. There is ample space in and around the barn for personal setups and larger base camps. Tents, tables, and portable fire pits or propane fires are permitted, but fire pits must be off the ground or on a protective barrier and all tents must be properly staked.
Additional site notes: packet pickup begins at 4:30 PM inside the barn, on-site setup opens at 3:00 PM, parking at the barn is first come first served with about 150 spots, an adjacent field lot is available next, and road parking is allowed after that. The preserve has no power and no water. Participants are asked to pack in and pack out. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
