The Longest Night Trail & Ultra Run at Lakewood Nature Preserve
The Longest Night is an overnight loop trail event held at Lakewood Nature Preserve in Greenville, SC. The course is a 1.5 mile loop of wide grassy paths and rolling hills that uses a central barn as the hub for the start and finish, the runners’ aid station, and personal setup space. The preserve has no power or water on site.
Races use a lap system and all runners must complete each loop within 25 minutes. Distances and lap counts for the event are listed below.
- 50 miles: 34 laps
- 50K: 21 laps
- Marathon: 18 laps
- Half marathon: 9 laps
- 10K: 4 laps
The barn area and nearby field provide space for tents, personal aid stations, and small base camps. Site rules require off-ground or protected fire pits, properly staked tents, and a pack in pack out policy for trash. Parking is on site with barn parking available (150 spots), an adjacent field lot, and additional road parking; road parking must be on the right side only. Event amenities include a runners’ aid station with hot soup, snacks, water, and Wildly Charged Hydration; the event is cup-less so runners should bring their own vessel. Other on-site details: four porta-potties, dogs allowed on leash, no pacers, finisher medals, and custom race bibs and race photos. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
