The Longest Day 24 Hour Adventure Race
The Longest Day is a 24 hour adventure race held July 25 to 26, 2026 in the Adirondack Mountains near Elizabethtown, New York, inside one of the largest parks in the United States. The event is organized for teams of two to four; solo entries are not permitted.
The course combines single track mountain biking, land navigation through forests and over mountains, and wilderness packrafting. Maps are pre plotted for competitors and the route requires strategic planning. Many checkpoints on the course are optional while a smaller set of points is mandatory to help ensure teams arrive at the finish together.
Race logistics note that boats will not be provided by the event organization. Each team must supply its own packraft. The organizer applied a lower entry fee for 2026 in part because participants provide their own boats.
Additional course features listed by the organizer include scenic terrain, a pre plotted map format, and a post race feed. Registration opens January 1, 2026 and closes July 12, 2026. The published registration fee for the event is $270.00. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
