IRONMAN Lake Placid
IRONMAN Lake Placid is a long-distance triathlon held in Lake Placid, New York. As one of the oldest locations in the global series, the event is set in the Adirondack Mountains, an area known for its Olympic history and natural scenery.
The race consists of three distinct segments:
- Swim: A lake swim typically characterized by an average water temperature of 24 °C (75 °F).
- Bike: A hilly course that winds through the Adirondack Mountains.
- Run: A rolling course that leads participants to the finish line.
The event concludes at the historic Olympic Oval. In recent assessments, the race has been recognized in several categories, including being named the most recommended event and having top-rated bike and run segments in North America.
The competition serves as a qualifying event for the IRONMAN World Championship and is part of the IRONMAN Pro Series. While the adult race takes place on July 19, 2026, the weekend also includes IRONKIDS Lake Placid for younger participants. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
