Event Overview
The 9th Annual The Longest Day 5K/10K/0.5k Beer Run by Beard vs Beans is a charity event held at Comanche Park in San Antonio. The event is organized to support the Alzheimer's Association of San Antonio and South Texas, with all proceeds benefiting the organization.
Participants can choose from several event distances and formats:
- 10K
- 5K Run/Walk
- 0.5k Beer Fun Run
- Kids 0.5k Fun Run
- Sleep-In Donation/Virtual
The event is founded on a philanthropic competition between two brothers to raise funds for dementia research and support. Finishers of the 5K and 10K events receive a medal and a commemorative shirt. Those participating in the 0.5k Beer Fun Run receive a beer mug, and an award is presented to the winner of this category. Children participating in the 0.5k Kids Fun Run also receive a medal and a shirt.
Logistics and Teams
Participants have the option to form or join teams. The team with the highest number of registered members by June 1, 2026, receives a team flag. A packet pickup is scheduled for the day prior to the race at the Burleson Yard Beer Garden. For those unable to attend the physical event, a virtual "Sleep-In Donation" option is available.
