The Long Run - Fall Back

The Long Run - Fall Back is the fall edition of a looped trail event held at Jacobsburg State Park. The course follows a give-or-take 5 mile loop that includes single track and flat, fast gravel trails with about 450 feet of elevation change. The fall edition uses the same original course as the spring event but is run in reverse.

Participants may complete a single loop or run as many loops as they can within timed options. The event offers fixed-distance and time-based formats, including three-hour and six-hour loop challenges. Course maps and a downloadable GPX file are provided for both the Spring Forward and Fall Back routes.

The event is organized as a zero carbon event. Organizers subsidize event-level offsets and include a fee in registration to cover offsets for participants' travel emissions. The event partners with a climate project for carbon offsetting and collects monetary donations for the Jacobsburg Environmental Education Center.

Donation drives at the event accept contributions for community organizations that support shoes and animal welfare. The Trail Mix Fund is associated with the event as a not-for-profit initiative that can cover race registration fees for runners who cannot afford entry, with a focus on under-served and under-represented communities.
