Lakeland Trails at Leighton Hall
Lakeland Trails at Leighton Hall stages trail races on routes around Leighton Hall within the Arnside and Silverdale National Landscape. The event offers two mapped courses that use farmland, reedbeds and mainly hard packed trails with occasional muddy sections and some short road sections.
Distances include:
- 10 km : a flowing route through farmland and reedbeds with a fast finish in front of Leighton Hall.
- 21 km : a half marathon course that travels further into the Arnside and Silverdale area with views of the River Kent estuary and the Lake District.
Entry rules and timing limits apply: the 10 km has a minimum age of 16 and a time limit of two hours; the half marathon entries require a minimum age of 18 with separate options for a Challenge (no prizes, longer time limit) and a Race (prizes awarded, shorter time limit). Dogs are not allowed on the course or in the venue.
Courses are waymarked and marshalled. Water stations are provided at KM 5.8 on the 10 km, and at mile 3.1, 6, 8 and 11.2 on the half marathon; some stations include food. Runners should carry their own reusable cup for fills. For safety, over ear and in ear headphones are not permitted though bone conduction devices are allowed. Race numbers are issued at registration in the main marquee and must be displayed horizontally for timing. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
