The Legacy Loop 5K
The Legacy Loop 5K presented by REI Coop takes place on August 15, 2026 at RFK Campus in Washington, DC as part of Chocolate City Criterium. The course runs at The Fields at RFK Stadium and follows the Chocolate City Crit layout.
The race is organized as a four-lap course and uses time-based waves. There are two 5K waves: a Run Club Championship wave aimed at runners targeting under 20 minutes, and a Community 5K wave for runners targeting 20 to 45 minute paces. Each wave has a hard cut-off time; runners who do not meet the cut-off will be swept off the course.
The event includes the DC Run Club Championship component. The fastest run club is awarded the Legacy Loop Championship Belt, a title belt presented to the winning club.
Registration information stated for the event includes an opening date of April 1, 2026 and a closing date of May 31, 2026. The published registration fee for each 5K wave is $30.00.
