The Legacy Loop 5K
The Legacy Loop 5K is a 5-kilometer race presented by REI Coop and held as part of the Chocolate City Criterium at the RFK Campus in Washington, DC on August 15, 2026. The course consists of four laps around the Chocolate City Criterium race circuit at The Fields at RFK Stadium, and the event is listed at 401 Oklahoma Ave NE, Washington DC 20019.
The event uses wave starts with two timed waves. An elite wave is intended for runners targeting a sub 20 minute 5K pace and has a hard cut-off at 20 minutes; runners who do not meet this cut-off will be swept from the course. A community wave is intended for runners targeting 20 to 45 minute 5K paces and has a hard cut-off at 45 minutes; runners who do not meet this cut-off will be swept from the course.
The DC Run Club Championship is held in conjunction with the race. The championship awards a Legacy Loop Championship Belt to the fastest run club based on the club competition format.
