The race uses a changing time-limit format. Runners repeat the 3.1 mile loop and must finish each circuit within a time limit that cycles through 40, 45, 50, 55, and 60 minutes, then resets to 40. Missing a cutoff eliminates a runner. To win, the final remaining runner must complete one solo loop within the current time limit; if that loop is not finished in time, the event concludes without a winner.
The course is described as primarily gravel trail with some elevation gain and loss, roughly an out-and-back feel within the loop. Aid station provisions include basic food items such as pickles, cereal, pretzels, candy, fruit, and bacon, plus hydration options like water, Tailwind, and sodas; first aid supplies are available at the aid station. Bibs must be visible on the front of the runner. Trekking poles are not allowed. Weather may include rain or fog. The event is private and unregistered participants are not permitted.
