The Last Wolf - Kings Mountain, NC
The Last Wolf is a Last Man Standing endurance race held in Kings Mountain, North Carolina on October 10, 2026. The event uses a repeated 3.1 mile (5K) loop and a changing time limit format that cycles through 40, 45, 50, 55, and 60 minutes, then resets. Runners who fail to complete a loop within the current time limit are eliminated. To claim victory one runner must complete one final loop alone within the time limit; if that loop is not completed in time there will be no winner.
The course follows gravel trails with some elevation gain and a simple out-and-back feel described as roughly a mile and a bit out before returning. Aid station provisions include basic food items such as pickles, cereal, pretzels, candy, fruit, and bacon, plus water, Tailwind, and assorted sodas. First aid supplies will be available at the aid station.
Event specifics and participant rules note that bibs must be worn visibly on the front, trekking poles are not allowed, and dogs or strollers are prohibited unless a special exception is granted. Runners and walkers may participate provided they can meet the time limits. Medals are awarded for completion; each finisher receives a distinct medal. Registration closes October 5 at 11:59 PM ET.
