The Land of Light 100k - Norway, ME
The Land of Light is a fully human powered 100k event held across multiple preserves and trail systems near Norway, Maine. Distances:
- 100K solo
- 100K duo
The solo course combines about 25 km of trail running and about 75 km of cycling between parcels. Run segments include a short loop at Virgil Parris Preserve, a 5 km loop at Roberts Farm Preserve, a steep 4 km lollipop at Noyes Mountain, an 8 km lollipop at Shepard's Farm through Witt Swamp, a 4 km loop on the Crooked River parcel, and a short up-and-down 3 km at Hawk Mountain that finishes at an overlook above Bear Pond.
Cyclists must travel between parcels under human power and may use any open public road while obeying traffic laws; e-bikes are not allowed. GPS navigation is permitted and may be requested for podium verification. Relay teams may exchange runner and rider at trailheads between parcels and may alternate roles more than once.
Aid stations: Roberts Farm (full aid), Noyes Mountain (water only), Shepard's Farm (full aid), Hawk (water only with leftover supplies as stations close). The event is cupless, so participants should carry their own cup or bottle. All race profits go to TruStrength Tomorrow, with 10 percent of proceeds donated to Western Foothill Land Trust.
