The Kook Run : Encinitas, California
The Kook Run takes place on February 14, 2027 at South Coast Highway 101 and West D Street in Encinitas, California. The event follows an out and back route along the coast with views of the Pacific Ocean and several surf breaks.
Event options include:
- 10K
- 5K
- Jr Kook Run (ages 3-12; distances vary by age)
- Virtual Kook (run on your own time and location)
The course begins with a gradual downhill section and returns include some manageable uphill portions before a final stretch through downtown Encinitas. The event also includes a costume contest with prizes. The Jr Kook Run is held on the Saturday associated with packet pickup. Packet pickup is scheduled the day before the main race and race packet mailouts are offered; mailed bibs are sent one week prior and virtual packets are mailed during race week.
Early bird registration is available for the 2027 event. Entry fees vary by race option and a virtual option is available for participants who cannot attend in person. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
