The Kook Run
The Kook Run is a running event in Encinitas, California, held along South Coast Highway 101 and West D Street. The course is an out and back along the coast with views of the Pacific Ocean and several well known surf breaks. The route begins with a gradual downhill and returns include some manageable uphill segments before a final stretch through downtown Encinitas.

- Jr Kook Run for ages 3 to 12, distances vary
- Virtual Kook with mailed race packet
A junior kids dash takes place on the Saturday associated with the event during packet pickup. Packet pickup is held the day before the main races. The event offers a costume contest with prizes. For participants who cannot attend in person there is a virtual option; virtual packets are mailed during race week. There is also a race packet mailout option that mails bibs about one week before the event.
