The Kook Run
The Kook Run is a road race in Encinitas, California, taking place along South Coast Highway 101 at West D Street on February 14, 2027. The course follows an out and back route along the Pacific coast and passes several well known surf breaks.
The route features a gradual downhill section early in the course and uphill sections on the return. The final approach leads participants through downtown Encinitas. A costume contest is part of the event and awards prizes.
Additional event options and services include a junior race and a virtual entry. The junior event is held on the Saturday associated with packet pickup and is open to ages 3 to 12. Virtual participants may run at their own time and location; virtual race packets are mailed during race week. Race packet mailouts are available and are mailed about one week before the event. Early bird registration is offered for the 2027 edition.
