The Kook Run
The Kook Run is a road race in Encinitas, California, held on February 14, 2027. The event takes place at South Coast Highway 101 and West D Street and follows an out-and-back course along the coastline.
The course runs along Coast Highway 101 with views of the Pacific Ocean and several well-known surf breaks. The route begins with a gradual downhill section, includes some uphill segments on the return, and finishes with a stretch through downtown Encinitas.

- Jr Kook Run (ages 3-12; distances vary by age)
- Virtual Kook
A Jr Kook kids dash is scheduled on the day before the main race during packet pickup and is open to children ages 3 to 12. Packet pickup is offered the day before the race, and race packet mailouts are available; mailed packets are sent one week in advance. Virtual participants receive race packets mailed during race week.
The event includes a costume contest with prizes. Registration offers early bird pricing for the main distances and a separate fee structure for the Jr Kook and the virtual option. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
