The Jon Ward 5K 2026
The Jon Ward 5K is scheduled as an in-person race at Hereford Leisure Centre and a virtual 5k held during race week. The in-person event takes place on Sunday 16 August 2026 at the cycle track at Hereford Leisure Centre, Holmer Road HR4 9UD. The course is five laps of a tarmacked cycle track and is described as flat. The race is chip timed and offers a bespoke finisher medal. Prizes are planned for the first three male and female finishers.
Entry fees for the in-person race are listed as £19 for affiliated runners and £21 for unattached runners. An optional event T shirt will be available for an additional £10 with profits going to charity. All profits from the race are to be donated to charity in memory of Jon Ward.
The virtual Jon Ward 5k runs between 8 and 16 August 2026. Virtual entries cost £14. Virtual runners may run any route of approximately 5 km, submit a recorded activity, and will receive a bespoke finisher medal by post. Virtual results are based on elapsed time and routes with significant negative elevation may be excluded. The event is organised under UK Athletics rules with a race licence applied for and anti-doping rules stated to apply.
