The John Martins Foundation and RI Burn Foundation 3rd Annual 5K and 1K Race/Walk
The John Martins Foundation and the RI Burn Foundation present a charity race day on May 17, 2026, in Warwick, Rhode Island, to raise funds for burn survivors. Proceeds will go toward purchasing advanced laser equipment for the burn unit at Rhode Island Hospital, equipment described as costing over $250,000 and intended to reduce scar tissue from severe burn injuries.

Registration opens January 1, 2026. Registration deadlines and fees vary by event: the 5K has a registration fee of $30, the 1K has a registration fee of $20, and the virtual 5K has a registration fee of $30. Virtual participants may upload their time by May 31, 2026; uploaded virtual times are not eligible for race prizes. Virtual entrants will receive a race t-shirt and finishers medal, available for pickup or for shipping for an additional fee. There is also an option to purchase a race day t-shirt at registration for an additional fee.
The in-person events take place at 185 Asylum Road, Warwick, RI 02886. The event is scheduled to occur rain or shine. Organizers state that refunds are not available and that in the case of severe unsafe weather the event may be canceled without issuing refunds.
