Rhode Island Half Marathon & 5K
The Rhode Island Half Marathon and 5K takes place in East Providence, Rhode Island, with both races starting and finishing at Pierce Memorial Stadium. The courses are USATF-certified and primarily follow the East Bay Bike Path and Veteran’s Memorial Parkway. Participants can view scenery including Narragansett Bay and the Providence skyline during the event.

The Half Marathon is capped at 2,000 participants and has a course time limit of 3.5 hours. For those participating in the Half Marathon, pace groups are provided for finishing times of 1:45, 2:00, 2:15, 2:30, 2:45, and 3:00. These groups are led by pacers from Marathon Sports, and no advance sign-up is required to join them.
All participants receive a finisher's medal and a chip-timed result. Registration includes a Brooks T-shirt for those who sign up online before the race day. Post-event amenities for participants include a breakfast sandwich and beer. The event permits strollers, provided they start at the back of the pack for safety, but pets are not allowed on the course.
Awards are presented to the top three overall finishers in the men’s, women’s, and non-binary categories based on gun time. Age group awards are also distributed based on chip time across various brackets ranging from under 19 to 70 and over.
Parking is available at stadium lots on Mercer Ave and at 450 Veterans Memorial Pkwy, with additional street parking permitted in East Providence on the day of the event. Packet pickup is held at Marathon Sports in Providence during the week leading up to the race, as well as at the stadium on the morning of the event.
