The Jamestown Half Marathon, Virginia Company 5K and Discovery Mile
The event on October 24, 2026, includes multiple running, walking, ruck, and virtual options that follow a flat course through Jamestown Settlement, Jamestown Island, Greensprings, and the Virginia Capital Trail. The in-person program lists available distances and formats including a half marathon, a 5K, a one-mile Discovery Mile, competitive walks, a ruck run/walk, and virtual versions of the half marathon and 5K.
Perks for in-person participants include a custom race T shirt (guaranteed in the requested size for registrations by October 8, 2026), a custom finisher medal for finishers, a swag bag, after-race refreshments, complimentary beer for those 21 and older, and DJ music. Several in-person races are chip timed and awards are determined by chip time.
The ruck division is a 13.1 mile ruck run/walk with gear requirements: participants under 150 pounds wear a 10 pound ruck and participants over 150 pounds wear a 20 pound ruck; awards are given to the top male and female finishers in that division. Virtual participants receive a swag bag, finisher medal, and race T but are not eligible for event awards or Grand Prix points; virtual items can be shipped for a nine dollar fee or picked up after October 24 at Colonial Sports and virtual entries must be completed by November 1, 2026.
