The Jailbird 10K
The Jailbird 10K is a 10 km road and trail race organized by Tantramar as part of the Sandpiper Festival in Dorchester on August 8, 2026. The route starts at the Johnson's Mills Shorebird Interpretive Center, follows the Memramcook and Petitcodiac Rivers, proceeds along Water Street, and finishes at Dorchester Consolidated School, 18 Harrop Avenue, Dorchester, NB. The course includes a mix of flat sections and hills and runs on both pavement and gravel.
For logistics, parking at Dorchester Consolidated School is encouraged and taxis will transport participants to the start location in the morning. The first 40 racers will receive an exclusive t-shirt. Registration is $10 for adults and free for children aged 12 and under. Registration must be completed online before August 6, 2026; on-site payments will not be accepted. Refunds are available up to 7 days before the event.
