The Iger Fund 5K
The Iger Fund 5K is an inaugural running race hosted by The Be Kind Project and held on the Institute of Living Campus in Hartford. The event serves as an initiative to increase awareness regarding the relationship between mental health and homelessness in Connecticut. Registration proceeds are donated directly to the Iger Fund to support patient care and resources.
Participants can take part in the following events:
- 5k professionally timed and scored race
- Fun run for children aged 10 and under
The 5k course is professionally timed and scored by Fast Track Timing. The event provides water and snacks for all participants. Awards are given to the top finishers in the race. In addition to the running events, Be Kind t-shirts are available for purchase on-site, with all proceeds from these sales also going to the Iger Fund.
The venue is located at the Donnelly Building at 200 Retreat Ave. While there is a registration fee for the 5k distance, children aged 10 and younger may participate in the fun run at no cost. The event focuses on the importance of underfunded mental healthcare and the necessity of support systems for patients after discharge.
