Frozen Heart 900 : Rockfall, CT : Feb 7, 2026

The Frozen Heart 900 is a no-fee "fatass" winter loop event held at the CFPA headquarters in Rockfall (Middlefield), Connecticut on February 7, 2026. The event runs for 15 hours (900 minutes). Registration opens January 1, 2026. Organizers request a $20 donation to the Connecticut Forest and Park Association if a participant withdraws less than a week before the event.

Course and format

The course uses the Camille's Way Blue Blazed trail as a 2.2-mile loop. Runners complete the loop in a "washing machine" format: one loop clockwise, the next counter-clockwise, repeating. Each loop returns to the parking lot, and participants are responsible for tracking their own lap counts.

Support, rules and amenities

No race aid or crew access is provided. The event is cupless; running water is available and the heated meeting room with a full kitchen and bathrooms can be used for food and gear. Participants are asked to keep personal gear to the size of a plastic tote or large duffel bag and to avoid wearing spikes inside the building. Carpooling is required due to limited parking; a commuter lot is located about seven minutes from the venue and vehicles should contain at least two runners to park. Headlamps must be carried on the person before sundown. Weather may vary and the event will be cancelled in the case of a blizzard. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
