Course and format
The start and finish are at Matthies Grove Peoples State Forest, 106 E River Rd, Barkhamsted, CT 06063. The course is entirely on roads and follows rolling hills along the Farmington River. The route goes outbound on East River Road, turns left onto Route 20 through Riverton center, and returns inbound on West River Road.

- 8.5 miles - one lap; finishers should report to the finish table and give their name to the timer.
- 17 miles - two laps (corrected distance); runners who continue for a second lap should report to the timer after the second lap.
