Course and format
The run is a hand-timed club event that starts at Matthies Grove parking area in People’s State Forest, 106 East River Road, Barkhamsted, CT 06063. The course is entirely on roads with rolling hills that run along the Farmington River. The route goes outbound on East River Road, turns left onto Route 20 through Riverton center, and returns inbound on West River Road.
Two distance options are offered by lap count:
- 8.5 miles
- 17 miles (corrected distance; two laps)
Runners who stop after the first lap (8.5 miles) are asked to proceed to the finish table and provide their name to the timer. Runners who complete a second lap should also report their name to the timer at the finish. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
