HTC Winter Series Barkhamsted 8.5/17 mile
The HTC Winter Series Barkhamsted event is a hand timed club run that starts at Matthies Grove parking area in People's State Forest, 106 East River Road, Barkhamsted, CT 06063. The course is entirely on roads and follows rolling hills alongside the Farmington River.
The route goes outbound on East River Road, turns left onto Route 20 through Riverton center, and returns inbound on West River Road. Participants complete one lap for the shorter distance or a second lap to reach the longer distance.
Distances:
- 8.5 miles: one lap, finish at the timing table and provide name to the timer.
- 17 miles: two laps, corrected distance, finish at the timing table and provide name to the timer.
Entry is limited to 150 participants and a waitlist is maintained. Registration is free. Donations are accepted to cover basic event costs. Organizers note that volunteers are needed to support the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
