The Hunt Trail Race : Overview

The Hunt Trail Race is a trail running event held at the Cody Archery Range, located off Highway 14 east of Cody. The event offers multiple distances on marked trails with volunteers stationed along the course for safety. Weather and trail conditions may vary; runners are advised to dress in layers and bring a warm, dry change of clothes for after the event. Food and beverages, including beer and burgers, are provided for registrants. Friends and family may purchase meal tickets for a fee.

The 1 Mile is an out-and-back hill climb. The 6 Mile is described as a flowy trail. The 16 Mile includes many climbs and scenic views. The 50K shares the first 16 miles with the 16 Mile course and follows a more mellow second 16-mile loop.

Aid stations: 2 for the 6 Mile, 3 for the 16 Mile, and 7 for the 50K. All aid stations provide water, Skratch hydration drink, and snacks, and are cupless, so participants should bring a bottle, cup, or pack. Participants in the 16 Mile and 50K are required to carry at least one bottle. Walkers and hikers are allowed on the 1 Mile and 6 Mile; the 16 Mile and 50K are for runners only.
