The Homer Classic 5k and The Homer Parade Mile
The Homer Davenport Community Festival includes two running events in Silverton, OR on August 8 and 9, 2026. The weekend features a 1 mile Parade Mile through downtown Silverton and a 5K that starts and finishes at Silverton High School, 1456 Pine St. There is parking available at the high school.
Distances:
- 1 mile parade run through downtown Silverton.
- 5K course including the Historic Gallon House Bridge, Marion County's covered bridge.
The Parade Mile route begins on North Water Street near Silverton Middle School and finishes just past Roth's Fresh Market on North First Street. The 5K route passes through local streets and the Historic Gallon House Bridge.
Registration details vary by event. The Parade Mile lists separate entry fees for youth and older runners. The 5K has tiered fees and day-of registration is available. Technical-style t-shirts are offered for an additional fee; registrants who register before July 14 are guaranteed a shirt. Race packets are available on race day.
The Silverton Runners' Club organizes the races. Proceeds support local running programs for Silverton, Gervais, and Mt. Angel schools, scholarships for youth running camps, and other local fitness activities. No dogs or motorized vehicles are permitted on the course.
