Event overview
The Hennepin Hundred is a point-to-point, all-trail ultramarathon in northwest Illinois. The course follows the 104-mile Hennepin Canal State Trail from Sterling, Illinois on the Rock River to Colona, Illinois near the Mississippi River. Organizers describe the course as flat and fast and note that the 50- and 100-mile routes pass historic locks, lift bridges, farmland, and small towns.

Aid stations are placed approximately every 3-7 miles. The event is a Western States 100 qualifying race for runners who finish within the race cut-off of 30 hours. Bus service is provided for runners parking at the finish lines; bus service fee listed as $10. Early registration pricing is listed through January 1. Registration closes on September 25. The organizer's rollover and refund policy: no refunds; a no-cost rollover is available if the organizer is notified 70 days before the event; 50% event credit is available until 25 days before the event; other entry-credit options may be offered with a volunteer shift after rollover deadlines.
Finishers receive event swag: 100-mile finishers receive a buckle and flannel; 50-mile and 50K finishers receive shirts and medals. Awards are given for 1st-3rd overall by gender and in 10-year age groups. Race photography is available for free download for social media.
