About the race
Harvest Hammer Run and Duathlon 2026 is a multi-event community running and cycling event held September 19, 2026 at Morrison High School, 643 Genesee Ave, Morrison, Illinois. The program includes a duathlon, a 5K run/walk, several youth runs, and a Color Run open to all ages. The event supports Morrison Rotary projects for local youth, education, community, and international programs.
Available distances and formats:
- Duathlon: 5K run and 21 mile bike for ages 14 and over; cyclists must wear ANSI approved helmets
- 5K Run/Walk: open to all ages
- Wee Run: 1/3 mile for Pre-K to 2nd grade
- Fun Run: 1/2 mile for grades 3 to 5
- Challenge Run: 1 mile for grades 5 to 8
- Color Run: open to all ages and free to Harvest Hammer participants
Awards are given by age divisions, with overall male and female awards plus top three in each division; duathlon awards include overall and age division placings and team awards. Duathletes are not eligible for 5K awards. Timing is electronic with chip timing. Additional event details include shirts for the first 400 registered, free sunglasses for color run participants, a child bicycle drawing for wee and fun run entrants, a gift card for the challenge run winner, and a no refunds policy; the event is held rain or shine.
The bike route starts and ends at Morrison High School, follows Prairie Center Road, Hillside Road, Bunker Hill Road, and Lister Road, and consists of two laps. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
