Hangers Way 50K
The event is a point to point trail ultramarathon of 50K that follows sections of the Hangers Way and linked local trails between Alice Holt Country Park, Farnham and Queen Elizabeth Country Park, Horndean. The route passes through steep-sided wooded hills known as the Hangers and through Hampshire countryside and villages such as Bighton and Selborne.
The course is fully marked and organisers provide well stocked aid stations, on-course safety and medical support, on-course photographers, and volunteers. A bag drop tent is available at the start and bags will be transported to the finish for collection. Runners receive a bespoke finisher medal, or may opt to have a tree planted instead of a medal via Trees Not Tees.
Entries are listed at a price of £64 for the 50K ultramarathon. Canicross entries are not accepted. Coach transport to the start is available for a separate fee of £10; those using the coach have their parking covered at the finish location. Pay and display parking charges apply at Alice Holt, and no return transport from the finish to the start is provided.
Runners are required to carry at least 500 ml of fluid. Competitors are advised to carry weather-appropriate clothing and to download the GPX file of the route to a watch or mobile device since course arrows can be tampered with. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
