The MTC Hafren Ultra
The MTC Hafren Ultra is a 27-mile point-to-point ultra marathon held in Wales, starting at Rhyd-y-benwch picnic area and finishing at the Mid Wales Arts Centre in Caersws. The race begins with a challenging nearly four-mile mountain trek up Plynlimon, known as Wales' most dangerous mountain due to concealed bogs. After reaching the source of the River Severn, runners follow Britain's longest river path back to the start area, now checkpoint one, before continuing to the finish.
The course features a significant 1,600 ft descent and scenic, largely unchanged landscapes. Two checkpoints provide vegan and gluten-free food options. All finishers receive a bespoke medal and technical tee shirt. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
