The Hafren Ultra
The Hafren Ultra is a challenging point-to-point ultramarathon that forms the first day of the MTC Severn Challenge. The race begins with a nearly four-mile mountain trek up Plynlimon, known as Wales' most dangerous mountain due to its boggy terrain. After reaching the source of the Severn River, participants follow Britain’s longest river path back to Rhyd-y-benwch.
The route features inspiring scenery, significant elevation changes, and a total distance of approximately 27 miles. All finishers receive a bespoke medal and technical T-shirt, with awards for top male and female athletes. The event emphasizes safety, self-navigation, and environmentally friendly practices.
