The Great Turkey Chase 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run
The Horace Mann PTA hosts the sixth annual Great Turkey Chase 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run on November 15, 2026, at the Mann school campus, 4430 Newark St NW, Washington DC 20016. The event brings together families, teachers, and neighbors for community running activities.

The event is a fundraiser. Over 75 percent of the PTA's fundraising dollars support the salaries of partner teachers and specialists that are not provided by DCPS. The PTA also funds programs such as gardening and language, professional development, classroom enrichment, and facility enhancements. Students may participate in a grade fundraising competition; registrants can add a donation for the grade competition at registration and should include the name and grade of the student to ensure credit.
Registration opens July 31, 2026. General registration closes October 9, 2026. Registration for Mann students, faculty, and staff remains open through November 15, 2026. Standard registration fees are $35 and discounted registration for Mann students, faculty, and staff is $20.
The runs take place on neighborhood streets and sidewalks rather than a closed course. Participants should stay on sidewalks and exercise caution while moving through the neighborhood. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
