The Great Buffalo Chase 2.5K
The Great Buffalo Chase is the 25th annual 2.5K fun run held on July 4, 2026 at Buffalo Trace Distillery, 113 Great Buffalo Trace, Frankfort, KY 40601. The event offers both in person and virtual participation and is chip timed. Entry is limited to the first 750 runners.
Registered participants receive race materials that include a commemorative t-shirt and bib. Race materials may be picked up at the distillery on July 3 or on the day of the event; in person pickup instructions advise parking in the Visitor Parking Lot and following signs to the Clubhouse for packet pickup. Virtual participants may complete the event between July 2 and July 4 and can opt to have race materials mailed for an additional ten dollar shipping and handling fee; shipping is available to the United States only.
A costume contest is part of the event with age categories for under 21, 21 to 29, 30 to 39, 40 to 49, 50 to 59, 60 and over, plus a best pet costume award. Prizes are also awarded to the top three overall male and female finishers with gift card awards of five hundred, two hundred fifty, and one hundred dollars to first through third place respectively.
