The Great American 5K
The Great American 5K takes place on July 4, 2027, at 828 Business Park Road in Linn Creek, Missouri. The course winds through the Linn Creek Industrial Park and is described as safe and relatively flat, making it accessible for runners, walkers, families, and those pushing strollers.
The event distance is 3.1 Miles. Race features include premium race swag and a custom finisher medal. The event incorporates patriotic music and American flags along the course, with many participants dressing in red, white, and blue.
Proceeds from the event benefit Heroes Outreach, a nonprofit focused on preventing suicide among military veterans and first responders by combating isolation and rebuilding a sense of camaraderie. Heroes Outreach holds regular community gatherings where veterans and first responders can connect, build friendships, and support one another.
Registration opened on July 5, 2026, and closes on May 26, 2027. The registration fee is $35.00. Military members and veterans are eligible for a 20% registration discount using the code service. Field size is limited to a total of 250 participants.
Awards are given to the top man and top woman in these age categories: 12 & under, 13-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70 & up. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
