Lake of the Ozarks Endurance Runs
One event presents three separate races held at Lake of the Ozarks State Park with a shared start and finish at Public Beach #1. The courses run through park woodlands, overlooks, rock outcrops, seasonal streams, and lakefront views.
Distances offered:
- Wandering Bobcat 5 Miler, approximately 5.5 miles
- Trail of Four Winds 25K, approximately 25 kilometers
- LOZ Traverse, approximately 32 miles running and 3 miles paddling
Course notes: the Trail of Four Winds 25K and the LOZ Traverse include roots, loose rocks, slick surfaces, creek crossings, and steep grades. The LOZ Traverse combines running with two paddling legs across the lake; competitors must provide their own kayak, canoe, or stand-up paddle board and wear a Coast Guard approved life jacket. Cutoffs are enforced, including a 3.5 hour cutoff to finish the Four Winds side for the Traverse and an overall 10 hour cutoff; the 25K has a 6.5 hour cutoff.
Support and logistics: multiple aid stations are located along the courses (including 3.5, 10, 13.5, 15.5 miles and several on the Honey Run side), and drop bags for the Traverse are located at the start/finish. Packet pickup is available on race day.
Entries include at least one swag item, a finisher award, a post-race beverage ticket, and access to a stocked finish line aid station. Photographs are taken and posted free of charge. Finisher and overall awards are presented in person and will not be mailed. Registration is nonrefundable.
The event partners with a local trails nonprofit and matches donated funds up to $2500. Camping and park amenities are available near the start and finish. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
