Lake of the Ozarks Endurance Runs
The Lake of the Ozarks Endurance Runs is a single event offering four separate races at Lake of the Ozarks State Park in Kaiser, MO, with the start and finish located at Public Beach Number 1. The event is organized by Ha Ha Racing Events and features trail running and a combined run-and-paddle option that uses the park and lake shoreline.
Races include:
- LOZ Traverse: approximately 32 miles running and 3 miles paddling.
- LOZ Traverse: Short Course: 16 miles running and 3 miles paddling.
- Trail of Four Winds 25K: heavy trail with 1600 plus feet elevation gain.
- Wandering Bobcat 5 Miler: about 5.5 miles with 700 plus feet elevation gain.
The LOZ Traverse follows the Four Winds trail, includes a beach transition to paddle across the lake to Honey Run, about 13 miles of single track on the Honey Run side, and a return paddle to the Four Winds side. The event is not a team competition and allows one person per boat; competitors must provide their own kayak, canoe, or stand up paddle board and wear a Coast Guard approved life jacket. There is a 4.5 hour cutoff to finish the Four Winds side of the course and an overall 11 hour cutoff.
Aid stations are located at 3.5, 10, 13.5, and 15.5 miles plus at 22, 26.5, and 29 miles on the LOZ Traverse. Drop bags for the LOZ Traverse are kept at the start and finish area.
Registration includes at least one swag item and finisher and overall awards. Awards are given to overall top finishers by gender and require recipients to be present. Photographs from the event are taken and posted at no charge. Camping, cabins, and yurts are available within walking distance of the start and finish at Lake of the Ozarks State Park.
