Event Overview
The Lake of the Ozarks Endurance Runs take place in Kaiser, Missouri, within the Lake of the Ozarks State Park. This venue is the largest state park in Missouri and features a variety of landscapes including rock outcrops, seasonal streams, woodlands, and lake overlooks. The event offers multiple race formats that utilize the park's extensive trail system, including single-track and double-track paths with surfaces consisting of roots, loose rocks, and creek crossings.
Race Options
Participants can choose from four distinct distances and formats:
- LOZ Traverse: A multi-sport event consisting of approximately 32 miles of running and 3 miles of paddling.
- LOZ Traverse: Short Course: A condensed multi-sport option featuring 16 miles of running and 3 miles of paddling.
- Trail of Four Winds 25K: A "heavy" 25 km trail race with over 1,600 feet of elevation gain.
- Wandering Bobcat 5 Miler: A "heavy" 5 mile course (approximately 5.5 miles) with over 700 feet of elevation gain.
Course Details and Logistics
The start and finish lines for all races are located at Public Beach #1. The LOZ Traverse requires participants to provide their own kayak, canoe, or stand-up paddleboard, along with a Coast Guard-approved life jacket. For the Traverse, a 4.5-hour cutoff applies to the first section of the course, with an overall 11-hour time limit for the full event.
Aid stations are positioned at various intervals along the courses, including a finish line station. Packet pickup is available on the morning of the event at the race site. Participants receive at least one swag item, and finisher awards are provided for all distances. Top three overall male and female awards are presented for each race.
