About the race
The Glasgow Winter Warmer Run offers three distances around Glasgow Green, with the event hub by Nelson's Monument near the People's Palace.
The course is mainly flat and on paths, with one section on trail. Distances are run as multiple laps:
- 5 km one lap
- 10 km two laps
- Half marathon four laps plus a 1.1 km section
The event uses chip on bib timing and results are published after the race. The course is marked and marshalled, with medical cover and water stations. Finish line sweets and finish line water are provided. Trophies are awarded to winners and all finishers receive a medal. Other included items noted by the organiser are partner benefits, voucher points for bookings through the Fix website, and penguin bars.
Buggies are permitted and the route is wheelchair friendly, with the caveat about the trail section. Race packs are collected at registration on the day. Bag storage is available but space is limited. Toilets are located within the event hub.
The Winter Warmer Runs support the charity Shelter. Fundraising is optional and there is no minimum fundraising target. Shelter provides advice and support to people facing homelessness and to renters, and the organiser lists recent service figures for Shelter for April 2024 to March 2025.
