About the race
The Ghost of William Morgan 5K is an inaugural community 5K run and walk held in historic Lewiston, New York. The course runs through the village streets and is USATF certified, with the finish line at Marilyn Toohey Park. The event features a gun start and a midpoint water station; bottled water and light snacks are provided at the finish. Proceeds benefit the Historical Association of Lewiston and The Lewiston Museum to support preservation work and free public educational programs.
Participants are encouraged to wear ghost-themed costumes, including early-1800s colonial ghost attire, though costumes are not required. Registration is open online until the race start or until the event sells out; 5K entry is listed at $30 through race day. Race day registration and packet pickup take place at Marilyn Toohey Park on race day until the race start. Awards are presented to the top male and top female 5K finishers at a post-race awards ceremony.
Custom finisher certificates and finish-line photos are available for download after the event. Professional timing and finish-line services use Jaguar Electronic RFID timing provided by Race Management Solutions, with results updated throughout the race and accessible via the event platform and associated race-result services. Free parking is available in the Village of Lewiston. Organizers reserve the right to reschedule or convert the event to virtual for safety or other reasons; no refunds will be issued.
