Event overview
The iRun WNY New Year's Eve 5K is the 10th Annual New Year's Classic. Two separate 5K races take place at Fort Niagara State Park in Youngstown, New York on December 31, 2025 and January 1, 2026. The event plans to use a certified USATF course. The first 125 participants will receive a custom finisher medal.
Course and race-day logistics
Both races start and finish near the historic lighthouse at Old Fort Niagara. The New Year’s Eve course is clockwise and the New Year’s Day course is counter-clockwise. There is one water stop on the course that runners pass twice, and bottled water is provided at the finish. A large heated tent across from the Officer's Club will host the post race celebration, with music and light food. Free parking is available in the main lot near the pool and beach, a short walk from the start/finish; participants are asked not to use the Historic Old Fort Niagara parking lot.
Registration, timing and awards
Online registration remains open until each race starts or until sold out. Fees are listed as $30 and $35 after 12/15/25; a two-race discount is offered at $55 and $60 after 12/15/25. Timing uses Jaguar Electronic RFID services with real-time results available via the event platforms. Custom trophies will be awarded to the overall male and female winners. All finishers receive a custom medal, with age-group award decals and downloadable finisher certificates. No refunds will be issued; organizers may postpone, reschedule, or provide a virtual option if necessary. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
