Event Overview
The 5.4 Funky Run takes place in mid-August at Vista View Park in Davie, Florida. The event celebrates the disco era with music and themed awards.
Race Details
The in-person event features two distances on a measured course. The main event is a 5.4-mile route, described as "a bit shorter than a 10K." The course consists of two 2.7-mile loops around and over two hills within Vista View Park. A shorter 2.7-mile option, called "The 2.7 'Not quite as Funky Run'," is also available. A virtual option allows participants to run the distance from any location.
Awards are given for both in-person courses. They are presented to the top three overall male and female finishers, as well as the top three in each age group, from 0-9 up to 90 and over. Special awards are also given for costumes and dancing.
The event is directed by an RRCA Certified Race Director. There is no on-site registration; participants must register online, which remains open until just before the race start. Packet pickup is available on-site before the event.
Venue & Logistics
The event is held at Vista View Park. Parking is available on a first-come, first-served basis. The park entrance fee is covered for participants, but traffic delays at the entrance are possible. From the parking area, the event site is a short walk over a small foot bridge on the north side of the park.
Results are available on-site, and participants can opt to have their results sent via text message. If the in-person event cannot be held due to severe weather or other issues, all registrations will be automatically transferred to the virtual event.
