Event details
The 5.4 Funky Run is a multi-day running event held at Vista View Park, 4001 SW 142nd Ave, Davie, FL 33330. The event includes in-person and virtual options and lists a multi-day schedule in mid-August. There are three event formats: a 5.4 mile race, a 2.7 mile race, and a Virtual 5.4 mile option. Online registration is available and there is no on-site registration. Parking at the park is available on a first come, first serve basis to the right when entering the park; the event area is a short walk over a small foot bridge on the north side of the park. Vista View Park is located in western Broward County and the park entrance can experience backups; the organizer covers the park entrance fee.
Course, logistics and awards
The course consists of two 2.7 mile loops for a total of 5.4 miles and goes around and over the park's two hills. A designated packet pickup area is provided for last minute pickups. Results are available on-site and participants can opt to receive results by text. Awards are given to the top three male and female overall finishers and the top three in each age group; overall awards use gun time and age-group awards use chip time. Awards apply to both the 5.4 and 2.7 races; virtual participants are not eligible for awards. If the in-person event cannot be held due to severe weather or restrictions, in-person registrations will be transferred to the virtual event.
