Event overview

New Year MacTuff (The Full MacTuff New Year 2026) is an outdoor obstacle course event held on Sunday 11 January 2026 at Knockhill Racing Circuit, near Dunfermline, Fife, Scotland (KY12 9TF). The course uses natural terrain and water features together with traditional OCR obstacles. Distances are single-loop courses with no laps:

  • 15k
  • 21k

The event is licensed by British Obstacle Sports and has a minimum age of 17.

Logistics and key information

Registration is online in advance; there are no on-the-day entries. Each participant must submit a signed event waiver before taking part; printed waivers will be available at registration for those who cannot bring one. Parking is free and accessed via the main gate; parking is close to the pits and the start/finish area. An attended bag storage service is provided free of charge, but the organisers do not accept responsibility for loss or damage.

The venue is exposed winter terrain and the course is described as hilly, muddy, wet, and cold. Water stations are provided on course and at the finish. Portaloos are located near the start/finish and a basic heated changing area is available; there are no showers. Medical support including an ambulance is present, with a medical centre at the pit lane. A food truck will sell refreshments and there is complimentary hot chocolate after the race for finished participants.

Competitive category and finish

Competitive entrants can qualify for national and international OCR competitions. Certain obstacles are mandatory for competitive runners (including tyre carry for 15k and 21k, tyre flip, full submersion lollipops, and a rock climb) and are subject to banding and attempt limits.
