Resolution Run 6K, Olympia Fields

The Resolution Run 6K is a New Year’s Day running event on January 1, 2027, held at Vollmer Grove within the Cook County Forest Preserve in Olympia Fields, IL. The course is a 6 kilometer loop (about 3.71 miles) on a paved trail.

Race entry includes chip timing, a marked course, prizes and race swag, and a complimentary custom beanie hat for the first 100 registrants. Packet pickup will take place on race day at the start area. The course is described as stroller friendly and dogs are allowed.

Transportation and parking information notes that parking is available at the start area and an overflow lot is available off Flossmoor Road about one mile from the start. The Olympia Fields Metra station on the Metra Electric line is approximately two miles from the start area.

Medals will be awarded to the top three overall finishers and to the top three finishers in the following age groups: 14 and under, 15 to 19, 20 to 24, 25 to 29, 30 to 34, 35 to 39, 40 to 44, 45 to 49, 50 to 54, 55 to 59, 60 to 69, and 70 and older.
