Lake Louisa State Park Trail Run
The Florida Run takes place at Lake Louisa State Park in Clermont, Florida. This event utilizes the park's diverse natural landscapes, featuring a mix of terrain such as rolling sandhills, shaded oak hammocks, and pine forests. Participants navigate various surfaces including sandy trail sections, hard-packed paths, and lakeside singletrack.
The courses traverse the heart of the park, offering views across the local lake system and open meadows. The routes consist primarily of wide double-track paths and winding forest sections under shaded canopies. The terrain includes steady elevation changes with rolling hills and gentle rises throughout the park grounds.
Participants can choose from three distinct distances:
- Half Marathon (13.1 miles)
- 10K (6.2 miles)
- 5K (3.1 miles)
The 5K route focuses on well-maintained paths and mild terrain. The 10K distance introduces more variety with a blend of smooth paths and short climbs. The half marathon distance covers the most extensive portion of the park, combining technical lakeside stretches with quiet forest paths. The event highlights the local flora and fauna within the protected state park environment. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
