Event overview
The Colt Creek State Park trail run takes place on April 11, 2026 in Lakeland, Florida. The event offers three distances:
- 5K
- 10K
- Half-Marathon
Races are chip timed. Participants receive event swag, a medallion after finishing, and post-race snacks. The event includes overall and age-group awards for each distance and team awards for run clubs, including fastest team scoring and an award for the largest team. Parking at Colt Creek State Park requires a single-use day pass or an annual park pass; parking fees go directly to the park.
Course and logistics
All courses are well marked with signage. Aid stations are placed approximately every 2.5 miles; some are self-serve and some are staffed by volunteers. Specific on-course aid and restroom details by distance:
- 5K: 3.18 miles, 104 ft elevation gain, 1 aid station, 1 on-course restroom
- 10K: 6.28 miles, 180 ft elevation gain, 2 aid stations, 1 on-course restroom (mile 3)
- Half-Marathon: 13.13 miles, 330 ft elevation gain, 5 aid stations, on-course restrooms at miles 3, 6, and 9.5; nutrition at miles 5, 7.5, and 10
Packet pick-up is offered at Colt Creek State Park on the Friday before the race and on the morning of the event. Participants are asked to dispose of trash in park receptacles to help keep the park clean. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
