The Fast and The Furriest 5K
The Fast and The Furriest 5K is the third annual race held in Frankfort, Kentucky, on February 22, 2026. The event is based at Hancock Pavilion at Lakeview Park and benefits The Betty J. Martin L.I.F.E. House For Animals, Inc.
The primary course is a 5K on scenic paved trails at Lakeview Park. Race features include commemorative long sleeved performance shirts in men's, women's and youth sizes, overall and age-group awards in five-year divisions, free race photos, post-race snacks and hot chocolate, and food, music and fellowship. Proceeds and donations support the mission of the Betty J. Martin L.I.F.E. House For Animals, Inc., a no-kill canine and feline adoption facility with managed intake. The organization emphasizes permanent placements, community education about animal issues, and care for animals until suitable homes are found.
