The Fast and The Furriest 5K : overview
The Fast and The Furriest 5K is scheduled for Sunday, February 22, 2026, in Frankfort, Kentucky. The event is the third annual race that benefits the Betty J. Martin L.I.F.E. House For Animals, Inc. Proceeds and donations will support the shelter, a no-kill canine and feline adoption facility with managed intake. The race base is Hancock Pavilion at Lakeview Park, 118 Park Avenue, Frankfort, KY 40601.

The 5K entry fee is $30; the price increases after February 15, 2026. The virtual 5K fee is $30 and its registration closes February 21, 2026. Kid's Dash and Race Volunteer entries are listed as free; volunteer registration closes February 22, 2026.
The course uses paved trails at Lakeview Park. Race features include long-sleeved performance/tech shirts in men's, women's and youth sizes, overall and age-group awards in five-year divisions, free race photos, post-race snacks and hot chocolate, social teams with a prize for the largest team, and prerace and race-day packet pickup (details TBA).
