The Fanciest 5K Ever

The event is a recreational, community 5K that raises funds for Safety Compass, a local organization providing free, confidential advocacy for sex-trafficking survivors in the mid-Willamette Valley region of Oregon. Participants are encouraged to wear formal or fanciful attire such as dresses, tuxedos, bow ties, top hats or tiaras while they run.

The event is offered in two formats. The in-person event centers at West Coast Strength, 290 Moyer Ln NW, Salem, OR 97304, and follows a 5K route that passes through Wallace Marine Park and River Front Park, with a finish line party and post-race snacks and prizes at West Coast Strength. The virtual option lets participants complete a 5K where they are, print a bib, submit their time and photos, and receive a medal.

Participants can set individual or team fundraising goals. Prizes are awarded for top fundraisers, top finishers and fanciest costumes. Registration opens August 1, 2026 and closes September 1, 2026. The registration fee is $30.00. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
