The Fabulous 4th of July Race in Memory
The event is scheduled for July 4, 2026 along the Long Beach boardwalk at Laurelton Boulevard in Long Beach, New York. The race proceeds rain or shine and offers separate events for children and adult participants.
Distances
- 1 Kilometer Fun Run, untimed, for children 15 years of age and younger
- 4 Kilometer Run, accurately measured 4 K (2.49 miles), flat course
The course is measured, flat, and starts and finishes on the boardwalk at Laurelton Boulevard. Baby strollers are not permitted on the race course. T-shirts will be distributed at bib pickup on race day while supplies last. All kids in the fun run receive an award. Race bibs also grant free access to the beach when shown at the entrance.
Registration options include a 4K Run/Walk and a 1K Fun Run. Registration fees include processing charges and are non-refundable and non-transferable. Participants who register at least three weeks in advance may have their name printed on their bib.
Awards are given to the top overall male and female, the top wheelchair participant, and the top three Long Beach police officers. Age-group awards are presented to the top three male and female finishers in each category from 14 and under through 80 plus. Bib pickup is handled at a Laurelton Boulevard location and bib numbers are provided to registrants in advance. Live online results and same-day finish-line photos are available.
