Event Overview
The Fabulous 4th of July Race in Memory of Sean Ryan takes place in Long Beach, New York. This annual event is held on the boardwalk at Laurelton Boulevard and proceeds regardless of rain or shine. The course is described as an accurately measured, flat, and fast route that begins and ends at the boardwalk. For safety reasons, baby strollers are not permitted on the race course.
Race Distances
Participants can choose between two main events:
- 4 km Run/Walk: An accurately measured 2.49-mile course open to all participants, including wheelchair competitors.
- 1 km Fun Run/Walk: An untimed event specifically for children aged 15 years and younger.
Participant Amenities and Awards
Registrants receive a T-shirt while supplies last, which can be collected on the morning of the event. All participants in the children's race receive an award. A notable feature of this event is that all participants are permitted free access to the beach by presenting their official race bib at the beach entrance.
Awards are presented to the top overall male and female finishers, the top wheelchair participant, and the top three Long Beach Police Officers. Additionally, medals are awarded to the top three male and female finishers in various age categories, ranging from 14 and under to 80 and over.
