The Endless Mile
The Endless Mile is a multi-duration timed ultrarunning event held at Veterans Park in Alabaster, Alabama from October 22 to October 25, 2026. The event runs on a USATF certified paved loop of exactly 1.00203 miles that is lighted, very flat, and passes through wooded areas and past several lakes. Each loop has about 12 to 15 feet of elevation gain. Runners circle the course for a fixed time and receive electronically chip timed results that record exact distance.
Available race durations include:
- 6 hour
- 12 hour
- 24 hour
- 48 hour
- 72 hour
The event supports solo runners and informal relay teams, and awards finisher medals. Solo runners who reach 100 miles receive a 100 mile buckle and those who reach 200 miles receive a 200 mile buckle. The aid station is open 24 hours and serves real hot meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner as well as made to order items; gels are not provided. Tailwind hydration drink is available throughout the event. The race is cupless so runners should bring their own cups. Direction on the loop is reversed every six hours. Parking rules require vehicles to occupy single lined spaces; campers and RVs should park in the lot and not block adjacent spaces. Lights may be spaced widely overnight so a personal headlamp is recommended. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
