The Edinburgh Winter Warmer Run
The event offers three road running distances around Holyrood Park. The course is hilly and follows roads around the park. Distances are run as repeated laps: the 5k is one lap, the 10k is two laps and the half marathon is four laps.
Race services include chip on bib timing, instant results at the finish, electronic results published online and race pack collection on the day. Participants receive a medal and refreshments will be available at the finish and in the event hub. There are a small number of trophies for winners. Marshals are placed around the course and participants are asked to keep to the left on public areas unless directed otherwise.
The route is wheelchair accessible and buggies are permitted. Bag storage and toilets are provided at the event hub but space is limited. Coffee and snacks will be available for sale within the hub.
The Winter Warmer Runs support the charity Shelter. Fundraising is optional with no minimum target. The organiser lists the total raised so far and Shelter's recent support figures for April 2024 to March 2025, including numbers of households and online visits. Entry prices increase on 2 January 2026. The event hub is on Parade Ground on Queens Drive opposite St Margaret's Well. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
