The Edinburgh 5k, 10k and Half Marathon Winter Warmer Run
The event is a multi-distance run held around Holyrood Park on Queens Drive with the event hub located on the Parade Ground opposite St Margaret's Well. Distances offered are listed below.
- 5 km one lap of the park
- 10 km two laps of the park
- Half marathon four laps of the park
The course is on roads and is described as hilly. The event uses full race chip timing and provides marked and marshalled routes, medical cover, water stations, finish line water and sweets, trophies for winners, and unique medals. Race numbers use a chip on bib system. Results are available via the event timing system.
The Winter Warmer Runs support the charity Shelter. Fundraising for Shelter is optional and there is no minimum target. Shelter provides advice and support for people experiencing or at risk of homelessness. Between April 2024 and March 2025 Shelter handled thousands of contacts, including support through a helpline, local hubs, webchat and online advice pages, and helped many households to see a positive change in their housing situation.
