Event overview
The Edinburgh Winter Warmer Run at Holyrood Park, Queens Drive, Edinburgh, includes three distances:
- 5k - one lap of the course
- 10k - two laps of the course
- Half marathon - four laps of the course
The event supports the charity Shelter; fundraising is optional and there is no minimum fundraising target. Entry fees shown on the event page are £25 for the 5k and 10k and £30 for the half marathon. Entry prices increase on 2 January 2026 and online entries close on 27 January 2026 unless the event sells out.
Course and event information
The course is hilly and run on roads around Holyrood Park. Buggies are permitted and the route is wheelchair accessible. Chip timing is used on a chip attached to the race bib and instant results are provided via the event timing partner. Participants collect race packs at registration on the day; bag storage is available but space is limited. Toilets, refreshments for sale, marshals on course and drinks and sweets at the finish are provided. Parking is not available in the South Approach carpark used by the event team; several park-and-ride sites operate around Edinburgh including Ingliston, Hermiston, Straiton, Sheriffhall, Newcraighall and Ferrytoll.
