Hardrock Duathlon : Dalbeattie Forest, 19 September 2026
The Hardrock Duathlon takes place at Dalbeattie Forest with two course options. The main course comprises a scenic off-road 9 mile trail run returning to the transition area, followed by an 18 mile mountain bike leg that follows sections of the red-grade trails and includes two laps of the Barnbarroch loop. The short course pairs a 4 mile run with a 9 mile mountain bike section that uses easier blue-grade trails and forest tracks.
The event is chip timed with a split between the run and bike sections. Entrants must be 16 years or older. Solo and team categories are offered across multiple age bands, including provisions for e-bikes. E-bikes must comply with UK EAPC law: maximum power 250 watts and maximum speed 15.5 mph. Teams consist of one runner and one biker.
Event facilities at the event village include car parking (a £2 charge supporting a youth charity), catering, a licensed bar, toilets, showers and a first aid tent. Overnight campervan parking is available at the Richorn Trailhead carpark for a fee payable to Forestry Land Scotland. Bikes must be racked before the race commences. The event is organised by volunteers from the Dalbeattie Community Initiative.
Entry fees per individual are tiered from £30 early bird up to £45 near closing; team fees are double individual prices. Entries close 13 September 2026. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
