Hardrock Duathlon at Dalbeattie Forest
The Hardrock Duathlon takes place in Dalbeattie Forest on 19 September 2026. The event offers two course options that combine off-road trail running and mountain biking on forest tracks and waymarked trails.
Distances:
- Main: 9 mile trail run then 18 mile mountain bike.
- Short: 4 mile run then 9 mile mountain bike.
The main bike leg follows sections of red grade trails and comprises two laps of the Barnbarroch loop. The short bike leg uses easier blue grade trails and forest tracks. Both run sections use off-road trails and forest tracks back to the transition area. The event is chip timed with a split between the run and bike sections.
Entrants must be 16 or older. Solo and team entries are offered across multiple age categories, and there are specific categories for e-bikes. E-bikes must comply with UK EAPC law, maximum 250 watts and maximum speed 15.5 mph.
Event facilities include an event village with catering, a licensed bar, toilet and shower provision, first aid, and car parking for a small charge. Overnight campervan parking is available at the trailhead carpark for a fee payable to Forestry Land Scotland.
