The Event
The Drop is a navigation challenge without a set route. Participants are taken from the event centre to an unknown drop point and must find their own way back. There are no course markers, directions, or maps provided.
Distances
Participants can choose from three distances. All distances are measured "as the crow flies" from the drop location to the finish; the actual distance travelled on the ground will be longer.
- The Drop 15 Mile
- The Drop 10 Mile
- The Drop 6 Mile - This shorter option is only for non-locals. Participants with local knowledge may be moved to a longer distance.
How It Works
At registration, participants must surrender all electronic devices, watches, and navigational aids. In return, they receive a race number and a sealed emergency bag to carry.
They then board a bus and put on blackout blindfolds (or approved alternatives) for the journey to the secret drop location. When the blindfolds are removed, their time starts. From that point, they are on their own with no map, GPS, route, help, or compass. The only rule is that travel must be on foot.
Rules and Notes
Breaking the rules leads to disqualification. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.

- No unauthorised maps are permitted.
- The integrity of the sealed emergency bag must not be broken.
