The Drop - Sevenoaks is an orienteering-style event in Sevenoaks, at 145 High St, Sevenoaks TN13 1XJ. The next scheduled race date is 25/04/2026. Participants choose either:
- 15-mile challenge
- 10-mile challenge
Distances are measured as the crow flies; actual travel distance on foot may be longer.
Format, rules and logistics
Participants surrender electronic devices and watches at registration and receive a race number and an emergency bag. Devices allowed for recording must be sealed in the provided emergency bag; breaking the seal leads to disqualification. No maps, GPS, compasses, or organised route guidance are provided unless organisers supply a map. Blindfolds or blackout safety goggles are worn for the initial drop; alternatives are available on request.
Competitors are transported by bus to an undisclosed drop-off point and must find their way back to the event centre by foot. Live GPS trackers are available as an optional, paid feature; trackers are typically accurate to 5 metres but can be affected by buildings or poor placement. Trackers must be returned after the event or a £175 replacement fee applies. Parking is available in the town centre; the nearest railway station is about a 10 minute walk and the bus station about 5 minutes from event HQ.
