Event overview

The Drop - Leeds is an off-road navigation challenge scheduled for 3 January 2026. Participants board a bus from the event centre, are blindfolded or given blackout safety goggles, and are driven to an undisclosed drop-off location. From that location each participant or team must find their way back to the event centre. Distances are measured as the crow flies; actual route distances may be longer.

Distances and entry

  • 10 miles : £45.50
  • 15 miles : £55.50

Entries are listed as available and the event is open to entrants aged 18 and over on 12/05/2024.

Rules and tracking

All electronic devices, watches and navigational aids must be handed in at registration and sealed in an emergency bag. Breaking the emergency bag seal leads to disqualification. Only maps provided by organisers may be used if any are issued. Participants may not use GPS, unauthorised maps, or shortcuts and must complete the course under their own power. Live GPS tracking is offered as an optional, paid feature; trackers are accurate within about 5 metres but can be affected by buildings and signal black spots. Trackers must be returned after the event or a £175 replacement fee applies.

Location and logistics

Event HQ is at Up & Running, 12 Boar Ln, Leeds, LS1 6EN. Town centre parking is available. The nearest railway station is about a 10 minute walk and the bus station about 5 minutes from the event centre. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
